Spark is a monthly museum program for people with early memory loss and their caregivers. These 1½ hours classes offer a dynamic cultural experience in a welcoming and stimulating setting. Bring your friend or loved one who suffers from memory loss for a social outing and art experience in the beautiful historic Rahr-West Victorian mansion and museum.

Spark events are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 11:00 am

August 17, 2017: Hot Air Balloon Art
Let's go sailing away into the clear blue sky on a hot air balloon! Well, we're not actually going on a a hot air balloon ride, but we can use our imaginations and pretend we are. Today we'll be making collage style hot air balloon art.

September 21. 2017: Fabric Autumn Tree Wall Hangings
The chill of Autumn will soon be here, but so will the beautiful colors of the fall trees. Today we will create fabulous fabric trees to bring the pretty colors inside where it's nice and warm. Enjoy some warm cider as we talk about our favorite parts of Autumn.

October 19, 2017: The Art of Tablesettings
A favorite exhibit here at the Rahr-West, The Art of Tablesettings, will bring back memories of days gone by and family meals of the past. Then we will each make our own plate in a Paint Your Pottery workshop!

November 16, 2017: Make Some Music
Today we will have a special visitor! Jessica Hanson of Take Note Studio, will be here to make sweet music with us! We'll enjoy both old, familiar and new songs with instruments and she'll also bring some of her younger, preschool students along to help us get our groove on!

December 21, 2017: Holly, Jolly Holiday Fun
Let’s walk together through the mansion and enjoy all of the twinkle and sparkle of the holiday decorations that fill the rooms! Then we will decorate some good, old fashioned sugar cookies and share favorite Christmas memories.
