A Collaborative Project of the
Manitowoc Public Library and Rahr-West Art Museum
Made possible by a grant from the Ruth St. John & John Dunham West Foundation
This digital arts collaborative project is to provide summer arts programming at the Manitowoc Public Library and Rahr-West Art Museum for teens (ages 13-18). Teens will complete a twelve week series (June 13 to August 29 from 1:00-2:30 pm) of digital art creation and exhibition workshops. Teens that sign up and complete the twelve week workshop will be awarded a Digital Arts Certificate. This certificate recognizes demonstrated competence with contemporary art digital technology and exhibition techniques. Participants will meet weekly to create original digital art projects in photography, and moviemaking.
They will develop and demonstrate new technology and media-based skills using the leading-edge equipment available in the library’s new Community Creation Room (CCR). The Community Creation Room has a video creation station including specialty cameras and professional-grade editing software, as well as a music creation station with the technology of a sound recording studio.
