DEWEY STREET - 2018
A complete reconstruction of Dewey Street from South 10th Street to South 26th Street will be done in the Summer of 2018.
The contractor for the reconstruction work is Vinton Construction Company. The project includes pavement removal, grading, graveling, fine grading, doweled concrete pavement with integral curb, concrete driveways and spot replacement of concrete sidewalks. The project also includes replacing some storm sewer manholes, inlets and inlet leads, installing underdrains, replacing some sanitary manhole structures, resurfacing of block sanitary manholes, sanitary building sewers, water services, lawn restoration, pavement markings, tree removal and tree planting.

Vinton Construction will also be replacing the watermain for the Manitowoc Public Utilities.
A meeting was held with the contractor, property owners and businesses on Thursday, June 21st at 4:30 p.m. A letter was mailed out to affected properties.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: JULY 9, 2018
COMPLETION DATE: OCTOBER 31, 2018

It has been determined that one-way traffic eastbound will be maintained on Dewey Street from South 26th Street to South 10th Street as all times during the project.
The detour for westbound traffic on Dewey Street will be Viebahn Street from South 10th to South 30th Street.
UPDATES (September 5, 2018)
The Watermain installation and miscellaneous sanitary and storm sewer work has been completed.
Vinton Construction has completed grading and graveling the north side of the road from S. 10th Street to S. 14th Street and they were also removing pavement on the north side of the road from S. 14th Street to S. 26th Street.
Vinton will continue grading and graveling for the next 2-3 weeks. Concrete Paving is tentatively scheduled to start the week of September 17th.
