Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills

Level 1 Swim Lessons help participants feel even more comfortable in the water. Skills participants will work on, and learn by the end of the program, include:

  • Enter and exit water using ladder, steps or side
  • Blow bubbles through he mouth and nose
  • Bobbing
  • Open eyes under water and retrieve submerged objects
  • Front and back glides and back float
  • Roll from front to back and back to front
  • Tread water using arm and hand actions
  • Staying safe around aquatic environments
  • Recognizing lifeguards
  • Recognizing an emergency
Age  Requirements: 5 years and up

Lessons are held at Wilson Junior High School
