Discharge of a Firearm - January 12, 2008

On August 31, 2006 at 1452 hrs, the Manitowoc Police Department was dispatched to an area off of Claypit Road for a suspicious fire on the Black's Bridge (lower bridge west of S. 21^st St. and Claypit Road). This fire caused in excessive of $500,000 worth of damage. An extensive ongoing investigation was conducted with the assistance of Department of Criminal Investigation, Canadian National Railroad, and the Manitowoc Fire Department. Suspicious Fire - August 31, 2006

The Manitowoc Police Department and Manitowoc Fire Department were called to 418 N 7th St. at approximately 10:00 P.M. ON FRIDAY, March, 3, 2006 to investigate a fire. The fire caused substantial damage to the interior of the single-family residence. The evidence at the scene indicated that arson was the cause of the fire. There was also vandalism to two (2) vehicles found on the property. The Manitowoc Police Department, F.B.I and the State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation have combined resources and are now offering a reward of up to $11,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for the Arson Fire/Hate Crime. Arson Fire - March 3, 2006

The Manitowoc Police Department was called twice to the Southside Storage Facility, 1917 and 1925 S 14th St. to investigate burglaries to storage sheds. Taken were small kitchen appliances, tires and other miscellaneous household items.

Burglary - Storage Sheds - Sept. 17, - Nov. 19, 2007

The Manitowoc Police Department was called to the JC Penney Store, 828 Memorial Dr. for a reported burglary. Upon arrival officers found a south window smashed out with a brick. Officers found that two jewelry cases were entered and an undetermined amount of jewelry taken. A dark colored Ford Ranger pick-up truck was seen in the area.

Burglary - JC Penney - Aug 10, 2005

On Friday, January 12th, 2008 at 11:15 p.m. the Manitowoc Police Department was called to the 900 block of S 20th St., where it was reported that a fight was occurring between multiple individuals. Citizens/witnesses reported that the fight was concluded by someone discharging a firearm. Investigators located several 9mm shell casings in the area. All indications appear that individuals from Sheboygan and Manitowoc were involved in the dispute. Anyone with information about this crime, can call Crime Stoppers at

March 13, 2008, 816 S 8^th St, Grape, Grain & Bean.

Most of the burglaries have been occurring during the early morning hours. The rear doors of many of the businesses had been forcibly opened. However, the latest burglary at the Grape, Grain & Bean store, the culprit smashed a large window at the front of the store, broke into the cash register and took out the cash drawer. Business Burglaries - February / March 2008

The Manitowoc Police Department was called to The Fatzo's Sub and Pizza Shop, 1421 S 10th St. where it was discovered that someone had used extreme force to enter the restaurant through a rear door. The suspect(s) then forced the cash register open and removed an undetermined amount of cash.
