The Manitowoc Police Department is proud to announce that Sergeant Jason Freiboth has been selected as the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, through the Fraternal Order of Eagles Manitowoc Aerie No. 706, for his service to the community in 2007.
Jason is well known in the community as the creator and race director of the annual Police Chase 4 mile run/walk. This past year he had approximately 125 participants including local State Senator Joe Leibham. Jason has done a phenomenal job organizing and directing this enjoyable October event that raises money for local non-profit organizations. To date it has donated over $4,000.00.
Sergeant Freiboth began his Law Enforcement career with the Manitowoc Police Department on May 25, 1997 as a Patrol Officer on 2nd shift. On February 27, 2005 Jason was promoted to Patrol Sergeant continuing to work on 2nd shift. He is a Firearms Instructor, Defense and Arrest Tactics (DAAT) Instructor, the coordinator of the Gang Task Force, on Bicycle Patrol, and Citizen's Academy. Jason has been a member of the Manitowoc Professional Police Association for 11 years, serving 3 years on the Board of Directors (2 years as Secretary).
Jason and his wife Lori have an adorable little girl named Aubry. When not working he enjoys running, hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and spending time with his family.

The Manitowoc Police Dept is proud to announce that Detective Andy Trilling has been selected as the 2007 Police Officer of the Year through the Noon Rotary Club.
Detective Trilling began his Law Enforcement career with the Manitowoc Police Department on July 25, 1993 working as a Patrol Officer. As a young officer, Andy continually strived to do his best keeping in mind that someday he may want to pursue further advancement in his police career.
In January 1998 Andy was appointed to the Police School liaison Program assigned to Manitowoc Lincoln High School. His passion for the school program was seen not only in the work that he did but the way he carried himself as well. While serving as Lincoln's Liaison Officer, he earned the respect of students and teachers alike.
In May of 2001, Andy was promoted to the position of Detective. While serving the citizens of Manitowoc as a Detective Andy continually shows his professionalism and dedication. His caring and compassion is of utmost importance to him and it outwardly shows, especially when dealing with victims of crimes. During his tenure as Detective, Andy was assigned to the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit for nearly two years. He currently is an active participant in the Gang Unit and has been an active participant in the "Sensitive Crimes Unit" of the Police Department in cases involving young children that may fall victim to crime.
Detective Trilling is a member of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA). He also is a member of the Manitowoc Professional Police Association (MPPA) and has served on the Board of Directors with the MPPA as the MPPA President as well as Vice-President. His dedication continues as he currently serves his fellow officers on the Board of Directors.
Detective Trilling's appearance, overall attitude, public relation skills, overall job performance, ability to work with other officers and staff, as well as his departmental involvement all deserve recognition. The Noon Rotary's Police Officer of the Year Award is a perfect way to recognize Andy's efforts and thank him for the wonderful service he's provided the Manitowoc Police Department as well as the citizens of the City of Manitowoc.
