What is Neighborhood Watch? |
|
It is a crime prevention program, which requires the active participation of citizens in cooperation with their police department to reduce crime in their neighborhood. It involves neighbors working together in a program of mutual assistance, that is neighbors looking out for each other. It is the responsibility of watchers to report anything suspicious to the police (686-6500 or 911 in any emergency). |
|
► Telephone the Police Dept. immediately at 686-6500 or 911.
► Tell the Police Dispatcher you are a member of a Neighborhood Watch. You do not have to leave your name.
► Describe what you saw in as brief as manner as possible.
► Include; where, when, how and who.
► Tell if the crime is still in progress or if it had already occurred.
► Describe the suspects - sex, race, approximate age, height, weight, hair color, clothing, facial hair, and other distinguishing characteristics.
