Applicants will be accepted in the following categories a) Floats b) Bands c) Animals (including carriages, horse drawn vehicles and walking units) d) vehicles (single units, including cars, trucks, buses, etc.) d) Walking units. The registration form will be available on August 15.

All entries must be of a non-commercial Christmas theme. This holiday parade is a family holiday event. The Parade Committee reserves the right to remove any entry not in compliance. Floats are encouraged to display the name or sponsor on the float in a non-commercial manner.

Applications must be received by October 31, 2012. Applications received after this date will not be accepted. Incomplete applications will be returned and must be resubmitted by the deadline to be considered for inclusion.

Maximum height is 14 ft. A detailed description of your entry must accompany the application to be reviewed by the Parade Committee. Acceptance will be based on the detailed description of your entry. This also enables the Committee to line up the best possible parade.

No entry may feature Santa Claus. Santa will make a special appearance on the final float of the parade.

Please consider your application accepted unless you receive further notification from the Parade Committee.

Candy may be handed out to the crowd. Throwing of candy and all other handouts will not be permitted.

Trophies will be awarded in 3 categories. Entries decorated creatively in a holiday manner with are eligible for Best of Parade (1) Judge's Choice (5) and Holiday Spirit (3) awards. Awards will be presented at the Common Council meeting on December 3 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 900 Quay Street, Manitowoc, WI 54220. This presentation will be broadcast live on Comcast channel 20.

Mandatory participants orientation and instruction meeting at the Capital Civic Center Kadow Room, Monday, November 12 at 5:30 p.m. - Mark this date!! Float and vehicle drivers should also attend. Pick up map, instructions, lineup, and parade number.
