WINTER PARKING BAN
The nightly Winter Parking Ban (salt routes which include bus and truck routes, arterial streets, State Highways, and County Trunks within the City’s jurisdiction) has changed for the snow season per City Ordinance 10.410. If snow is forecasted, the Mayor may call a Winter Parking Ban by 4 p.m. The Winter Parking Ban will go into effect from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning. For example, a Winter Parking Ban called before 4 p.m. on December 26 would mean no parking on Winter Parking Ban streets from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on December 27. Tickets will be placed when the Winter Parking Ban is in effect. If snow is forecasted, seek alternative parking on non-restricted streets. Err on the side of caution; don’t park on the street anytime snow is forecasted. Winter Parking Ban fine is $50.00.
Salt Route Maps are available by clicking on Snow/Salt Maps.
Notification of the Winter Parking Ban will be on the City website, www.manitowoc.org, as well as the City Facebook page, WOMT, WCUB, WLKN, WTAQ, WBAY, FOX 11, NBC26, Xfinity Channel 4, text and/or email alert or call 920-686-6550.
City wide Snow Emergencies will continue to be called by the Mayor as needed when a general plow of the entire City is imminent. Tickets will be placed when the Snow Emergency is in effect.
