City Garbage Route - Rapid Improvement Event February 22nd, 2018
This project was chosen because there hadn't been any real evaluation of the plan for at minimum, 10 years. During that time, there were significant staffing changes, but changes hadn't been made to make the process more efficient. The adviser for this event chose a very small group of the current users of the process, who were quickly able to identify a need for improvement in several areas of this task. Out of this event, 15 solutions were identified, and will be put into effect in the weeks to come.
Cemetery Backfill - Rapid Improvement Event March 23rd, 2018
The Cemetery team took a closer look at this process due to the issues caused by using frozen/wet back fill for grave sites in the winter. Machinery was breaking down, it was taking twice as long to get the same work done, frozen back fill doesn't compact, and more. The team was able to quickly come up with numerous solutions saving time, money, and making for much easier and more efficient work.
The NEXT Rapid Improvement Event will be addressing the Attacking Animals process April 16th, 2018!
