About the Foundation

The Rahr-West Art Museum Charitable Foundation was established to ensure that the museum continues to enhance the quality of life in our community; that it continues to serve everyone as a friendly place where people of all ages and from all walks of life are welcome to discover new dimensions in themselves and the world. Museum admission is always free, and we strive to keep program fees as inexpensive as possible. 

Please know, however, that our exhibits, programs, services, and events are much more than just fun for the entire family. All are led by experienced artists, and they are designed to greatly enrich the lives of those of us lucky enough to live along the lakeshore. It is well documented that exposure to and participation in the arts enhance creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, as well as improve student performance in other core subject areas.
