The purpose of the Building Inspection department is to assist customers in achieving their goals while protecting the life, health and safety of the residents of the City of Manitowoc throughout the permit process.

To promote health and wellness during this time please consider using email services for permitting and minor plan review submittals. Staff will continue to answer customer questions by phone at (920) 686-6940 or by Department Email.
Applicants may submit permit forms and minor plan reviews via email by using the Form Gallery.
Applicants may drop off permit forms and minor plan review in the Drop Box on the West side of City Hall located at 900 Quay Street.
In the interest of keeping our community safe and well during this time applicants who need to visit the public service counter shall first stop at the City Clerk’s office who will then notify department staff of your arrival.
