Teen Art Classes

At the Rahr-West Art Museum, we have a passion for the important role visual arts plays in education. We offer weekly classes for teens, ages 13-17. Our knowledgeable instructors provide students with inspiration and tools to make the process of creating art fun and educational.

Classes will take place on Thursdays, 4:00-5:00pm.

Summer 2025

3 copyLinocut Printmaking with Kyler Lasee

August 21, 1-3pm

Inspired by the Really Big Prints exhibit, students will learn about reduction printmaking as a medium and how to do it with linoleum. They will then make their own original linocut print with provided supplies after a demonstration. 

Kyler Lasee is an artist and senior studio art major at St. Norbert College. For three years, she has been the campus's printmaking shop technician. In the last two years she has participated in the Really Big Prints event and displayed her printmaking work at Rahr-West Art Museum, Baer Gallery, and Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum.

Students will create a 3D space themed paper landscape.

Tablesetting Still Life Painting

October 9,16, 23, & 30, 4-5pm

Students will learn techniques to create a still life painting inspired by the Tablesettings Exhibition. Students can bring in their favorite mug, dish, or other objects to create their still life or use props provided.

Light Up 3D Winter Forest

Students will create a 3 dimensional cardboard and paper winter forest with fairy lights.
