Teen Art Classes

At the Rahr-West Art Museum, we have a passion for the important role visual arts plays in education. We offer weekly classes for teens, ages 13-17. Our knowledgeable instructors provide students with inspiration and tools to make the process of creating art fun and educational.

Classes will take place on Thursdays, 4:00-5:00pm.

Winter/Spring 2023 TEEN CLASSES

Semester pricing:  We no longer are offering semester pricing, but instead have adjusted our prices to reflect the bonus of semester pricing.

Monthly Fee: $25 for Museum Members, $50 for non-members

January:  Watercolor Winter Scenes   January register HERE
Thursdays, January 5, 12, 19, 26
Students will learn watercolor techniques to create a winter landscape painting.

February:  Art & Love     February register HERE
Thursdays, February 2, 9, 16, 23  With a focus on Valentine's Day and Black History Month, students will learn about artists creating work about love, and make mixed media projects of their own.

March:  Women Sculptors   March register HERE
Thursdays, March 2, 9, 19, 23
In Celebration of Women's History Month, students will learn about women sculptors and create a sculpture of their own.

April:  Floral Still Lives     April register HERE
Thursdays, April 6, 13, 20, 27
Students will create a floral still life drawing and paint throughout the month of April.

May:  AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander art and artists)
Thursdays, May 4, 11, 18, 25    May register HERE
Students will learn about local and nationwide Asian American and Pacific Islander art and artists.  They will create an inspired piece of their own.
May 11th and 18th will be taught by special guest artist, Chue Lor-San.
