Manitowoc School Resource Officer Program

Driven in part by law enforcement's movement towards community policing and the increased perception of school violence, the appearance of law enforcement officers in our schools have become more commonplace. The Manitowoc Police Department recognized the value of formalizing a relationship with the Manitowoc Public School District. Law enforcement professionals and school administrators have mutually agreed to the assignment of law enforcement officers to Manitowoc schools.

The Manitowoc Police Department and Manitowoc Public School District has a long and distinct partnership. The police and schools have worked together to provide positive interaction between police, school and youth in Manitowoc. We work together to help decrease the number of crimes in school or near school property and educate students to prevent them from becoming victims of crime. Our goal is to divert as many youth from the juvenile justice system by way of early intervention.
