Brush and yard waste are only picked up by the city during its Spring Cleanup. Items may be placed on the terrace area up to two weeks in advance of the scheduled pickup.  Brush and/or yard waste that is piled upon the terrace at other times must be removed by the property owner and disposed of, such as by taking it to one of the Manitowoc County Compost Sites.

After receiving a complaint or observing a pile placed illegally, the Streets Division will send a letter to the owner of the property. Five business days after the date of this letter, piles may be picked up by city crews and the property owner assessed a minimum charge of $100. Subsequent violations will be picked up without further notice and the property owner assessed for each occurrence.
