How to Enter a Plea - YOU MAY PHONE IN A PLEA BY CALLING (920) 686-6920 PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED COURT DATE OR EMAIL (see links for NC/GUILTY or NG pleas below)

Municipal Court will accept any plea over the phone by calling (920) 686-6920 and speaking with the Court Clerk. You may appear in person on your initial appearance date and time. You may have an attorney appear on your behalf, either in person on the initial appearance date and time, or in writing, prior to the initial appearance date or email a plea, see below for more information.
 

Entering Pleas in Writing

You may enter a plea in writing prior to your initial court appearance date. This written notice can be mailed delivered to: Manitowoc Municipal Court, 900 Quay St., Manitowoc, WI 54220 (by mail)
or by using the drop box on the west end of the City Hall building or by email (see link below)   
This notice must contain your full name, current address, phone number, citation number, and the court date on which you are scheduled. You can plead guilty, no contest, or not guilty.

No Contest & Guilty Pleas BY EMAIL

If you plead no contest or guilty, the court will accept your plea on the initial court date and give you 60 days to pay your forfeiture without question. You will not receive any further notice, however, you must pay your forfeiture within that 60 days to prevent any further alternative penalty.  If submitting plea by email, click the blue link to load the form, fill in the boxes, and after clicking 'submit form', wait a few moments for the auto email to generate, then click 'send' to email your plea.  To utilize the 'submit form' button you must be using an Internet Explorer web browser or you may also save the form to your local drive.   No Contest/Guilty Plea Form
 

Not Guilty Pleas BY EMAIL

If you plead not guilty, you will be assigned a pretrial time to meet with the assistant city attorney by telephone on a future date. You will be notified by mail of the date, time, and place of that meeting.  If submitting plea by email, click the blue link to load the form, fill in the boxes, and after clicking 'submit form', wait a few moments for the auto email to generate, then click 'send' to email your plea.
