Housing

Thank you for your interest in the City of Manitowoc's Housing Assistance Services. As part of the city’s Healthy Neighborhood Initiative, the City of Manitowoc recognizes the importance of investing and maintaining the existing housing stock to revitalize city neighborhoods and to maintain the overall health and well being of the community.

Housing Rehabilitation Program

The Housing Rehabilitation Program provides low and moderate income (LMI) households with eligible housing rehabilitation activities a 0% interest deferred payment loan until the home is re-financed, sold, is no longer the applicant’s primary residence or after 30 years whichever comes first. The loan amount is secured by a mortgage on the property. Eligible work projects can include rehabilitation of dwelling units and removal of architectural barriers for accessibility.
