[ARCHIVED] Prescribed Burns for the Prairie Management of the S 10th St. and S 30th St. Stormwater Ponds

The City of Manitowoc would like to notify all residents of the intended prescribed burns planned for the Prairie Management at the South 10th and South 30th Street Storm Water Ponds.  The Burns are scheduled to take place within the next week when weather conditions and winds are favorable for the burn.

Prairie fires are historically very natural and they help to promote the growth of native plants.  The native plants have deeper growing roots that stabilize the pond embankments and remove pollutants from the storm water.

For additional information regarding the Prescribed Burns, contact the Engineering Department at 686-6910.
