[ARCHIVED] WINTER PARKING BAN DECLARED

In anticipation of snow overnight tonight (Friday 1-17) and through tomorrow (Saturday 1-18) Mayor Justin M. Nickels has declared a Winter Parking Ban which will be in effect for overnight tonight AND overnight tomorrow night.

Per City Ordinance 10.410 no parking is allowed on the Winter Parking Ban streets from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 and 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020.  There shall be no parking on the Winter Parking Ban streets (salt routes which include bus and truck routes, arterial streets, State Highways, and County Trunks within the City’s jurisdiction).  Tickets will be placed during the Winter Parking Ban.  Winter Parking Ban fine is $50.00.

In addition, due to the snow continuing through the night and into Saturday, the City of Manitowoc is strongly encouraging people not to park on city streets on Saturday (any time of day).  The plan is to plow every city street throughout the day on Saturday and the elimination of parked cars helps to ensure as much snow as possible is plowed off the road.  Overnight Saturday night seek alternative parking on non-restricted streets.  Thank you for your consideration.
