Mayor Justin M. Nickels has declared a snow emergency overnight tonight (Sunday 2-9-20) into tomorrow (Monday 2-10-20) and a winter parking ban for overnight Monday night (2-10-20) into Tuesday morning (2-11-20).
The Snow Emergency will be in effect overnight tonight (technically Monday morning) from 1:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. No parking is allowed on any city street. A $75 citation will be issued to any vehicle parked on any city street between those hours.
A winter parking ban will be in effect overnight Monday (technically Tuesday morning 2-11-20) from 1:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. There shall be no parking on the Winter Parking Ban streets (salt routes which include bus and truck routes, arterial streets, State Highways, and County Trunks within the City’s jurisdiction). Seek alternative parking on non-restricted streets. Tickets will be placed during the Winter Parking Ban. Winter Parking Ban fine is $50.00.
Our crews plan to be out throughout the morning and afternoon today, then home to rest this evening and back out overnight to plow the entire city.
Remember: even if your street has already been plowed or appears plowed, the parking ban is still in effect on every city street. Do not assume that if your road has been plowed that you can park on the street. There is no parking between 1:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.
Thank you for helping our crews plow the streets safely.
