[ARCHIVED] Dine 4 The K9

September is National Service Dog Month and the K9 Unit of the Manitowoc Police Department has created a spectacular month-long fundraising event to coincide with it. The initiative is called “Dine 4 The K9!”.

From Sept. 2nd to Sept. 30th we have 22 participating local restaurants throughout Manitowoc County, where they will be sponsoring a specific day --- one restaurant per day --- and donating a percentage of that day’s total receipts back to the Manitowoc Police Department K9 Unit.  Pretty simple and it is simply a delicious event.  No coupons or vouchers are needed.  We just need you to participate at each of the restaurants by satisfying your craving for some of the area’s finest food.

Most police department K9 Units are largely funded in large part with grants and private donations and that is why this fundraiser is so important to us. Our fundraising allows us to maintain a multi-unit K9 team and to cover daily/operating costs of the program.  These funds cover specialized veterinary care for the K9’s, police vehicles, necessary equipment for the K9 Units, training and certifications that are necessary to maintain the effectiveness of the teams and other miscellaneous expenses to support the program.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about our fundraiser and our K9 Unit!  Hope to see you out in September for a good time as helping us out as never been so scrumptious!  Bon Appetit!!
