North 10th St. between York St. and Maritime Drive will be closed to all traffic beginning on Monday, May 3rd.
Southbound traffic on North 10th St. will be detoured onto York St. and over to North 9th St. and then southbound on North 9th St. to Maritime Drive and then Maritime Drive westbound back to 10th St. There will only be one narrow lane for traffic to get back onto 10th St. (See the attached map that shows the detour route).
The road closure and detour is needed for the construction of sanitary sewers, watermain, new traffic signal conduits and signal bases, removal of the existing islands, grading, graveling, and concrete paving within the intersection of North 10th and Maritime Drive. However, the traffic signal will not be operational until later this summer or fall. When the intersection reopens, westbound traffic on Maritime Drive will be required to stop prior to entering 10th St.
It is anticipated that the project will be completed and all lanes of traffic reopened on or before May 28th.
