[ARCHIVED] 2024 Leaf Pickup

Leaves

The City of Manitowoc 2024 leaf pickup Parking Ban is scheduled to begin on October 1st, 2024.  October 1st the City Street Sweepers will be out for fall pickup.  During this time, the City Street Sweepers will be sweeping the streets between 6:00 AM and 3PM to pick up any leaves that have fallen into the street.  Additional city crews will be added October 14th in each district.  We expect the bulk of of leaf pickup to be October 14th through November 22nd weather permitting.  The goal is to complete pickup in each section each week.  Depending on weather, volume of leaves and equipment, there may be times a section is not completed.  Please be patient, leaves will be picked up the following week.

Safety for residents and crews is important.  Never park your vehicle over a leaf pile.  If you see crews picking up leaves, please give them room. Large equipment backs up frequently, and we want everyone to be safe.

RESIDENTIAL PARKING BANThe Residential Parking Ban will be from 6 AM to 3 PM on the day of your pickup, which is the same day as your Street Sweeping Parking Ban.  This will facilitate picking up the leaves much faster.  Vehicles parked on the street between 6 AM and 3 PM will be ticketed.  Informational flyers have been placed on vehicles September 23rd – September 27th, 2024.  The parking ban will be in effect October 1st, 2024 through November 22nd, 2024.

NO BRUSH OR GARDEN WASTE WILL BE PICKED UP.   Residents may take brush and garden waste to the Manitowoc County compost sites or contact a private hauler.   For information about the compost sites call (920) 683-4333.
