The Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc is looking for designers for the 2025 Art of Tablesettings exhibit. Each year, dozens of local volunteers create inspiring tablescapes based on works of art in the Art of Tablesettings exhibit. If you are interested in applying to participate, applications are due Sunday, April 20, 2025. Find more information and the application at https://www.manitowoc.org/1027/Art-of-Tablesettings
In honor of the Museum’s 75th Anniversary we will have a special “challenge” opportunity for interested participants in which multiple designers or teams will create tables based on the same work of art, Phenomena: Saturn Ascent by Paul Jenkins. Mrs. West created a disco-themed table based on this work in 1980, but since the painting is over 13 feet wide and participants are usually limited to 4x6’ spaces, it is not usually available for the exhibition. There is no judging, this challenge is all about seeing how different teams will interpret the piece differently. Participation in this special challenge would not prevent designers from having their own individual tablesetting with other art as is tradition.
The Art of Tablesettings will be on exhibit at the Rahr-West Art Museum Friday, October 3 – Sunday, November 2, 2025.
