Due to construction on Memorial Drive / Highway 42, from Waldo Boulevard in the City of Manitowoc to the West Twin River bridge in Two Rivers, the Maritime Metro Transit route 1 bus will be detoured beginning Tuesday, April 1st.
As the bus leaves the Bayshore Drive/Johnston Drive transfer point in Manitowoc heading to Two Rivers, it will travel north on Johnston Drive to Highway 310, then east to Columbus Street where it will head south to 10th Street. From 10th Street, the bus will head north to 12th Street and continue on the route as normal. Six temporary bus stops are located along the route:
- On Columbus Street near 18th Street;
- On Columbus Street near 13th Street;
- On Columbus Street between 11th & 10th Streets;
- On 10th Street by Bellevue Place;
- On 10th Street by Lowell Street; and
- By the intersection of Lowell Street and 12th Street.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT), construction may last until approximately May 23rd depending on weather, etc.
