[ARCHIVED] Two Year Old Boy Falls Out of Window

On 08-04-10 at 08:20 am, a 911 call was received at the Manitowoc Joint Dispatch Center in reference to a young boy that had fallen out of a second story window in the 1100 block of S. 10th Street. Officers responded along with the rescue squad personnel from the Manitowoc Police Department.

The victim is a 2 year old boy. He had been looking out the window at other children in the neighborhood. The other children went inside of their residence and a short time later, a female observed the victim standing on the sidewalk crying and bleeding. She went to his aid at this time and called authorities.

It is believed that the boy pushed against the screen on the window and lost his balance forcing the screen to pop open and he then fell out of the window. He struck a parked vehicle, cracking the windshield on the vehicle before striking the ground.

He was treated at the scene by the members of the rescue squad for injuries and was then transported to Aurora Medical Center for further treatment.
