[ARCHIVED] Searching for Dog and Owner

The Manitowoc Police Department is requesting information regarding a dog bite incident that would have occurred on the beach near the wayside at Waldo Boulevard and Memorial Drive on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm.

On Wednesday, August 11, 2010 a 16-year-old Manitowoc youth reported to Manitowoc Police that he had been walking on the beach near the wayside when he was approached by a woman and three children walking a larger, dark-colored dog with short hair. He stated that as they passed him, the dog jumped up and bit him near his ribcage. The female did stop and ask if he was alright, but the victim didn’t realize that he was injured until he returned home. The victim received outpatient treatment at a local medical clinic for a puncture wound and was released.

Anyone with information on this dog or its owners should call the Manitowoc Police Department Shift Commander’s phone at (920) 686-6551
