On August 7, 2010, Manitowoc Police Officer Jason Koenig, performed a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of a 27 year old Manitowoc man on several drug and driving charges, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Officer Koenig stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Division St. for improper display of license plates and a defective exhaust. When making contact with the lone driver, Officer Koenig noticed the driver acting very nervous. Officer Koenig could also smell the odor of burnt marijuana. Officer Koenig then called for Officer Weber and K-9 Aik to assist him. A subsequent search of the vehicle by K-9 Aik and the officers, revealed several packages and various amounts of cocaine and marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a loaded .40 Highpoint semi-automatic pistol, which was located under the drivers seat.

The driver was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Detectable Amount of a Restricted Substance, Bail Jumping, Obstructing an Officer, Possession and Delivery of Cocaine and Marijuana.
