Join the Summer Reading Program and earn weekly prizes just by reading! Pre-register on the Beanstack App starting May 1 or pick up a paper reading tracker at any MPL Service Desk. The Summer Reading Program officially launches on Monday, June 12, and runs through Saturday, August 12! • Read or be read to a total of 30 days to complete the program. • Every five days read earns you a prize! • Participants have until August 19 to pick up your prizes, while supplies last. There are two ways to track your reading: 1) Sign up on the Beanstack website (https://manitowoclibrary.beanstack.org/reader365) or download the Beanstack app (https://landing.beanstack.com/mobile-app). The Beanstack app is available for iPhone/iPad Beanstack for Android; or 2) Use a paper reading tracker. Pick one up at any Service Desk so that you’re all set to go when the program begins, starting June 12. Whichever route you decide to take, it’s going to be a fantastic summer of reading with MPL!

Join Tim & Emily for a behind-the-scenes, freewheeling look at Manitowoc Public Library services and events the third Thursday of every month (except in April—we’ll be broadcasting on the second Thursday in April). Their tagline—Always on Time, Never On Topic—sums the situation up rather nicely. Each episode will feature Guest Appearances from MPL Staff. Will there be trivia? Without a doubt! Will there be foolishness? We can pretty much guarantee there will be some of that, too! Please join us LIVE for a fun and entertaining discussion! MPL Insider will air on both MPL’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary) and their YouTube channel. June’s Guest: Laura Schreiner, MPL Inter-Library Loan Associate

Ever set out to create a meal that looks as good as it tastes only to settle for a can of Beefaroni because you got discouraged? Or, perhaps, you’d just like to cook a really nice everyday meal, but don’t have the know-how? Manitowoc Public Library is teaming up with local chef, Andrew Dunbar, for a virtual cooking class series. These once-monthly classes will demystify the process for you! Andrew will demonstrate from his home kitchen how simple it is to make restaurant-quality dishes without having to purchase fancy equipment or ingredients. The first installment will feature a mushroom and leek stuffed tomato with hanger steak & chimichuri. This is a budget gourmet experience, folks! Level 1 Sommelier, Eric Mueller, will also be in the mix, to offer suggested wine pairings. These tutorials will livestream on MPL’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary) and YouTube channel. Check back to Facebook one week prior for the ingredient list to cook along at home. Bon Appetite!
